Dayco Tensioners

Heavy-Duty

Dayco GOLD LABEL® Heavy-Duty Belt Tensioner

Designed for heavy-duty diesel engine accessory drive applications.

Dayco’s GOLD LABEL® heavy-duty tensioner handles higher torque and power pulses exerted by today’s diesel engines. The heavy-duty cast aluminum body and pulley arms translate into extra strength and durability and the patented flat spring design prevents fluctuations to the tensioner body as its footprint doesn’t change when it’s under tension. This reduces the risk of belt noise and also helps avoid separation of the housing – a key failure many technicians see from competitive products. Our heavy-duty tensioners also include rugged pulleys with dual lifetime lubricated bearings to deliver long lasting, dependable service. In addition, many Dayco GOLD LABEL® heavy-duty tensioners feature highly damped designs using a wave spring and a metal ring with a bonded polymeric surface that acts as a radial shock absorber for the tensioner arm while reducing contamination.

2-Piece Heavy-Duty

Dayco Heavy-Duty 2-Piece Tensioner

Specially engineered to address installation issues for over half a million Detroit Diesel 13 and 15 series engine applications.

The Dayco heavy-duty 2-piece tensioner was designed with an outer and inner tensioner that cuts the installation time in half compared to competitive products. Machined from high strength steel or powdered metal to provide excellent wear resistance under harsh environments, this unique 2-piece design also features Dayco’s patented flat spring technology and dual pressed-in pulley bearings to provide long bearing life and protection against the shock loads.

Automotive

Dayco Automotive Belt Tensioner

Designed for all vehicle applications with serpentine belt drives.

To maintain constant tension on serpentine belt drives, the Dayco automotive belt tensioner features our original, patented flat spring design to provide less operating range variation. It reduces the risk of premature accessory bearing failure due to high tension when a new belt is installed and lessens the risk of belt noise and slippage – or poor performance caused by low tension. A PTFE string wound within the spring resists abrasion dampens noise and the flat spring is coated to resist rust.

Dayco’s tensioner is also designed with a heavy-duty cast aluminum spring case and arm. The strong metal helps resist cracking and fatigue and offers additional strength, lessening the risk of distortion. Additional premium features include a steel pivot tube on specific designs for enhanced stability, thermoplastic rubber spring slot plugs and rubber O-ring seals to help keep contaminants out and zinc coated mounting bolts that resist rust. Built to outperform and outlast competitive OE parts, our tensioners endure the toughest conditions while promoting quieter performance and longer life.
