EDDIE ROGERS’ “CHEVELLE FROM HELL” RACE CAR TO FLAUNT THE FLOOR AT DAYCO PRI BOOTH
4500 HP VEHICLE BUILT BY CHRIS DUNCAN RACE CARS AND OUTFITTED WITH DAYCO’S 8MM BLOWER BELT
PRI, Indianapolis, Dec. 1, 2023 – Dayco, a leading engine products and drive systems supplier in the automotive, industrial and aftermarket industries, is gearing up for ‘hell on wheels’ at next week’s PRI show in Indianapolis with owner and driver Eddie Roger’s “Chevelle from Hell” on display in the Dayco booth, #2217.
The vehicle was built by Chris Duncan Race Cars, a team Dayco has a long standing working relationship with. The well-known fabrication shop and tuner of Pro-Mod and Top Alcohol cars outfits its dragsters with Dayco 8mm blower belts to help them perform under the most extreme conditions. This year, the Chevelle from Hell, which is raced by Rogers, competed all over the U.S. and earned a number of wins in the Midwest Drag Racing League, PDRA and ADRL drag racing series. The car continues to be maintained by Amanda Hoover, manager and tuner, at Chris Duncan Race Cars.
“This is one bad ride and we are excited to be able to have it on display at PRI 2023,” said Jay Buckley, Director of Marketing and Tech Service, Dayco North America. “It’s a beautiful vehicle under the hood and the Dayco 1600-84 8mm blower belt is a perfect complement to all the modifications made by Duncan’s crew.”
Teams report Dayco blower belts last 3 to 7 times longer than competitive belts. The Dayco 8mm blower belt has high strength Teflon-coated teeth for cogged drive pulleys and a carbon cord construction for extreme durability and performance on the street or track. Just like its 11mm blower belt Top Fuel predecessor, it was specifically engineered using real-world on-track data that enables it to withstand the rigors of 4,000+ horsepower Top Alcohol dragsters and Pro-Modified race cars. It comes in multiple lengths and 50mm, 75mm and 84mm widths.
“DAYCO racing belts are durable and affordable, allowing you to make more runs per belt without worrying about breakage,” said Hoover. “The confidence to make it to the finish line in one piece, to make the next round, is peace of mind. For our team at Chris Duncan Race Cars, and any other team that is looking for the competitive edge, we couldn’t imagine running anything else.”
Not only does Dayco offer both an 8mm and 11mm blower belt for today’s ProMod, Top Alcohol and Top Fuel drivers, the company has a full line of race-performance harmonic balancers, supercharger belts for late model supercharged cars like ZR1 Corvettes, Shelby Mustangs and SRT Hellcat applications, as well as a newly released line of timing chain kits.
Dayco also has a complete line of racing belts for powersports machines like SXS, snowmobiles and UTVs, and will have a highly modified CanAm X3, which is owned and raced by Buckley, on display at the booth as well.
